An exciting opportunity for a Digital Solutions Lead is available within our Global Combat Air Programme IT team.

At Rolls-Royce, we pioneer the power that matters to our customers, to society and to the planet.

We’re the second largest global provider of defence aero-engine products and services globally with 16,000 engines in the service of 160 customers in 100 countries. Our engines power aircraft in every major sector, including: transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Work with us and we’ll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are, so we encourage flexible working arrangements, so you can always be at your best.

What you will be doing:

You will work closely with programme stakeholders, internally and externally, to provide IT and digital expertise across a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on developing digital capabilities across the engine supply chain. This will include the following:

  • Lead the understanding and development of requirements and solutions to resolve business problems.
  • Own the roadmap and strategy for deployment of digital supply chain capabilities for the programme, and ensure it is fully integrated with Rolls-Royce's broader digital and IT strategy
  • Lead discussions with international programme partners on the implementation of digital solutions for the supply chain.
  • Provide guidance on process, methods and technology to the wider team.
  • Supporting compliance and governance across GCAP governance boards and provide input to Defence IT/Central IT governance

Who we’re looking for:

At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form the behaviours that guide us and are an essential component of our assessment process. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. Further to our behaviours and values, we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of IT and Digital solutions in the defence industry and experience of working in a high compliance environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of IT delivery processes and architectures
  • TOGAF qualification or relevant experience in domains such as systems requirements development, solution and enterprise architecture, solution design and IT project delivery
  • Ability to develop strategy and roadmaps based on programme timescales and capability requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with senior business stakeholders and bring technical concepts and roadmaps to life
  • Experience of working internationally or with a broad range of external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable knowledge of working in a complex supply chain and experience of the typical digital tools, methods and processes that are used

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.  Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive
