We are looking for a Software Engineer who is excited to solve real-world problems with tangible societal impact. You’ll help build core systems used by public safety agencies around the world, and explore how emerging tools like AI-assisted development can make our engineering team faster, safer, and smarter.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our engineering team, you’ll ship features that help first responders save lives, navigate emergencies, and keep their communities safe. You’ll also help us explore new ways to deliver that impact more efficiently by thoughtfully integrating AI-assisted workflows into our development process.

If you were on the team last week, you might have:

  • Built or improved a workflow used by frontline police officers or dispatchers in our cloud-native platform

  • Used tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot to speed up implementation while maintaining high quality

  • Partnered with teammates across engineering, product, and design to deliver a new feature end-to-end

  • Experimented with using internal AI tools to automate a repetitive coding task or accelerate test coverage

  • Fixed a bug affecting real users or improved the resilience of a high-uptime service

  • Shared feedback in a retro or mentored a teammate through a tough technical decision

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for a thoughtful and driven software engineer with 1+ years of professional experience. You care about writing clean, maintainable code—and you’re motivated by the idea that your work can help people in the moments they need it most. While you don’t need deep AI expertise, we value a genuine interest in using AI tools to make development more effective.

You should have:

  • 1+ years of professional software engineering experience or a Computer Science Degree and Internship Experience 

  • Experience with at least part of our stack: Java, Javascript, TypeScript + React, and MySQL (You will be asked to complete a coderpad test in Java and Javascript) 

  • Curiosity and comfort with modern development tools, including AI-assisted platforms like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLM APIs

  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills

  • A balance of pragmatism and technical rigor

  • A desire to grow quickly on a high-impact, mission-oriented team

Location

This role is based in our Manchester, UK office and follows a hybrid work model. Team members are expected to be in the office at least three days per week to foster strong collaboration and a connected team environment.
