MyCSP

MyCSP operates the Civil Service Pension Scheme, regulated administration covering pension schemes, annuities and related products. Our activities are often mission-critical to our client (Cabinet Office) but not core to their organisations and cover administration, software provision and payments.

Scope

We are looking to appoint a Financial Technical Lead within the Scheme Finance Team in Payments. This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop their career, supporting a team of Pensions Administrators specialising in payment recovery.

My Role

The Financial Technical Lead will provide expert knowledge on a broad range of complex and department and client requirement. The primary objective of this role is to ensure payment recovery is managed effectively in line with agreed procedure and that reconciliation and reporting between key stakeholders is carried out effectively.

The Financial Technical Lead will also be responsible for providing technical guidance conducting training, analysis and delivering on the job training to pension administrators.

A financial qualification is preferred, but not essential, strong communication and relationship building are key to the role, as you will act as a key contact to both internal and external stakeholders.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide administration service to customers, working to agreed targets
  • Resolving complex (sometimes confidential) customer enquiries 
  • Drafting of non-standard correspondence in response to customer enquiries.
  • Collating and analysing data and produces routine reports
  • Performing and issuing pension calculations including manual calculations
  • Provision of technical guidance to other team members
  • To complete / check casework and provide feedback
  • Identifies and implement process improvements in immediate area of work responsibility in order to improve throughput and customer service
  • Provide on-the-job coaching to department colleagues
  • Attend client meetings where necessary
  • Monitor daily work position and reallocate work as required
  • Carry out projects and ad-hoc activities as determined by the Financial Analyst

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Previous pensions experience is essential
  • Good legislative and technical knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail and capable of following defined processes and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • The desire to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Proven track record of quality, timely delivery
  • The ability to develop positive and productive working relationships
  • Computer literate with a willingness to learn a variety of systems
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
