Job Description

As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will prep the Group’s external financial reporting, including the Group annual report and accounts, quarterly interim reporting and subsidiary statutory accounts and related work papers. You'll also assist in other areas such as accounting queries, day to day management of external auditors, process improvements and ad hoc projects.

As a Financial Reporting Accountant, we are looking for someone to:

  • Prep the Group annual report and accounts, subsidiary annual statutory accounts, and quarterly external reporting to agreed deadlines and periodic financial reporting to support treasury transactions, ensuring accurate financial information is produced
  • Co-ordinate external audit requests ensuring requests are responded to on a timely basis and accurate documentation is provided, whilst effectively communicating with the external audit team and Group Finance
  • Produce statutory accounts work papers in accordance with reporting timetables, whilst also appropriately addressing review comments
  • Drafting of quarterly and annual timetables, ensuring key delivery dates are met, updating on progress, and managing stakeholders across the projects

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Relevant experience in reporting under IFRS
  • Statutory accounting, audit or management accounting experience
  • Effectively communicating and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on the quality of work with attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Desire to learn and develop new skill

Desirable

  • Experience with producing statutory reporting for listed companies, within a Bank or financial services business
  • IFRS9 financial instruments experience
  • Experience with derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Experience of BI tools
