Role Purpose
As a Financial Accountant at Lonza AG, you will have a meaningful role in assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual group reporting and accounts. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will follow established procedures, accounting principles, and guidelines to maintain accurate and timely financial records for our EMEA collaborators. Key Responsibilities
- Work within a fast-paced Record to Report (R2R) department in a Shared Service Centre (SSC) to deliver delegated month-end close activities.
- Meet tight deadlines by performing all tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Support multiple country/unit-based markets by providing a high-quality transactional accounting function.
- Manage end-to-end R2R processes within the SSC, including:
- Payroll Accounting
- Travel & Expense (T&E) Accounting
- Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR)
- Pre-payments and accruals
- Provide supporting schedules for internal and external auditors.
- Maintain a working understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Handle direct and indirect taxes efficiently.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Key Requirements
- Qualified AAT, part-qualified, or currently studying for an ICAEW (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) qualification, or qualified by experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a finance department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong listening skills.
- Resilient with the ability to handle challenges effectively.
- Proven problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
- Strong analytical abilities.
