Role Purpose

As a Financial Accountant at Lonza AG, you will have a meaningful role in assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual group reporting and accounts. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will follow established procedures, accounting principles, and guidelines to maintain accurate and timely financial records for our EMEA collaborators. Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a fast-paced Record to Report (R2R) department in a Shared Service Centre (SSC) to deliver delegated month-end close activities.
  • Meet tight deadlines by performing all tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Support multiple country/unit-based markets by providing a high-quality transactional accounting function.
  • Manage end-to-end R2R processes within the SSC, including:
  • Payroll Accounting
  • Travel & Expense (T&E) Accounting
  • Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR)
  • Pre-payments and accruals
  • Provide supporting schedules for internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain a working understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Handle direct and indirect taxes efficiently.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified AAT, part-qualified, or currently studying for an ICAEW (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) qualification, or qualified by experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a finance department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Resilient with the ability to handle challenges effectively.
  • Proven problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
