As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in optimising our consumption-based business model by overseeing all aspects of revenue recognition accounting.


We value in-person collaboration here at Matillion, therefore this role will ideally follow our hybrid work structure where Matillioners work 2 days a week in the Manchester office.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee and ensure the integrity of the revenue recognition process in both consumption-based and subscription models.
  • Lead and manage the month-end close process specifically for revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure timely and accurate customer billing, collections, and balance sheet reporting.
  • Own and maintain accounting policies and controls related to revenue recognition, ensuring they are well understood and adhered to.
  • Assist in driving system enhancements through collaboration with IT support and other key stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the sales teams to ensure revenue recognition requirements are met for all deals.
  • Support the annual audit process by ensuring that revenue recognition testing is completed in a timely manner for auditors.

What we are looking for

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar).
  • Demonstrable accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or Pre-IPO environment.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Oracle or Netsuite is preferred).
  • Bonus if you have experience with SaaS revenue recognition with an understanding of GAAP and IFRS Rev Rec standards.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across a global team.

At Matillion, we are committed to providing compensation in line with market standards based on the role, job family, job level and country. This role’s estimated annual salaried pay range for this position is £44,000 - £66,000. The final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
