Deputy Financial Controller UK and International and Finance Manager – Reporting and Consolidation

Bristol/Hybrid (3 days are required to be in the Bristol office)
You will be an integral part of the Financial Control team delivering the financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and insight for Rolls Royce’s UK Defence business.
The role is a highly rewarding and varied one; one where the successful candidate will be right hand of the Financial Controller – UK and International and will be responsible for co-ordinating the smooth running of the finance control process within the Defence UK business, ensuring that processes and procedures are efficient and streamlined, and that all critical deadlines are achieved.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain experience in a complex and high-profile part of the Defence business, whilst building strong relationships with both peers and senior management across many areas within the sector.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Financial Controller – UK and International, you will lead the execution of the Financial Control value stream in UK and International Business:
- You will build relationships with external auditors and manage the interim and annual audit cycles for Defence UK and International ensure key deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
- You will lead the quarterly statutory reporting process, including but not limited to preparing deposits, deferred income and warranty summaries, IFRS 15 disclosure schedules; FX revaluation files providing commentaries on significant balances, and coordinate the completion of all Rolls-Royce Group reporting templates.
- You will lead the UK and International AP’ly accounting close process, managing any centrally coordinated actuals models and downloads, and ensure all centrally prepared financial performance commentaries identify key business drivers and insights.
- You will operate and ensure compliance with the key financial internal controls for the UK and International business.
- You will provide Project Accounting mentoring and coaching including providing specific Project Accounting support as requested and agreed by the Defence Finance Leadership team (e.g. RB199 Project Accounting support)
