What you’ll do:

We’re seeking a proactive Finance Assistant to play a vital role in supporting Kroo’s finance operations. In this position, you’ll take on a variety of day-to-day financial responsibilities, including payroll, accounts payable and VAT returns. You’ll also assist in streamlining processes to ensure the seamless operation of our financial activities. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow your career within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Delivering process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process via automation and control.
  • Driving continuous improvement across finance, including support the implementation of finance systems.
  • Preparing supporting workings for and reviewing month end journals.
  • Participating in annual and interim audits, maintaining a good relationship with external auditors and the internal audit function.
  • Supporting the wider business by providing financial reporting and technical accounting implications of new product launches, including the implementation of new accounting processes and reconciliations.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of suspense account reconciliation, working with wider stakeholders (Data engineering, PayOps).
  • Produce and review capital, liquidity and statistical regulatory returns, maintaining timeliness and accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory environment, assessing the impact on the banks own reporting processes and requirements.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet and P&L ledger account movements.
  • Supporting finance operations including payroll, accounts payable, liquidity and VAT return.
Requirements

What You’ll Need:

  • A hands on, ability to ‘get stuck in’ approach to problem solving, and not afraid to get into the detail.
  • Previous experience/or an interest in Banking or Fintech.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Willingness to solve problems and take initiative even when uncertain.
  • Good excel/Google sheet skills.
  • A professional, respectful, and friendly manner.
  • Positive mindset / team spirit.

You’ll have an advantage if you:

  • Part Qualified ACCA/ACA/CA.
  • Experience working in a Bank/Building Society/Fintech.
  • Degree in Accounting and Finance.
