About the role
Our FP&A team partners closely with every part of the business, building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. The team is dedicated to implementing best-in-class practices and delivering meaningful management insights. Their work provides the data-driven foundations that shape strategic decisions, support growth, and ensure the business remains agile and well-informed.
What you will be doing
Roles and Responsibilities include:

Working closely with the team to prepare monthly reporting packs for investors

Assisting Head of FP&A in the preparation of forecasts and budgets

Preparing Ad Hoc Finance reports for various areas of the business

Departmental cost analysis and working with Heads of Departments to investigate variances to budget

Project based work, including working with stakeholders across the business to research and deliver answers to finance-based queries. For example, product pricing analysis, business unit profitability analysis, revenue forecasting, budget setting, sales analysis, etc

Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast

Support the strategic planning and strategic initiatives of the company, including acquisitions and investment appraisal, by providing financial planning and modelling skills

Ensure integrity of financial data supplied by financial accounting team to other areas of the business and to external stakeholders
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
-
A proven track record: You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy finance or accounting function, and be qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification) with experience of SaaS reporting metrics and KPI’s

Accounting expertise: You will be capable and experienced in completing full Financial or Management Accounts

Communication skills: You will have the confidence and skill to facilitate broad-ranging conversations with people across the business and with external customers (face to face, telephone and digital communications)

Exceptional organisational skills and keen attention to detail: You will work with a high degree of accuracy and effectively plan to ensure that tasks are actioned and followed up to ensure completion

Numerical and analytical skills: You will enjoy working with numbers and will have an analytical mindset

Commercial acumen: You will be interested in understanding the business and be commercially aware, with knowledge of sales forecasting, commission schemes and revenue recognition policies.

Team-orientated: You will be able to build relationships with the wider Learning Pool team and work together to achieve the team and company goals

A focus on continuous improvement: You will look for opportunities to keep improving our products, processes and service to make sure that our offering remains the best in the market

Flexible approach: You will be able to work in a fast paced environment, with a flexible approach and self management capability

Positive, solutions focused outlook: You will think "What can we do to make this happen?" rather than "I don't know how this would work"

Proficiency with business tools: You will be comfortable with using appropriate technology and systems, with a willingness to increase capability in the relevant systems that we use (e.g. Google suite, Excel, Netsuite, CRM tools). Experience with Salesforce (and Tableau) would be an advantage.
