Executive Sales Specialist – Proteomics, Europe

(Remote)

This role can be based at any of our European Hubs, including the UK, Nordics, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and Belgium

The Role 

 

As European Executive Sales Specialist for proteomics, you will be responsible for leading the commercial expansion efforts for Illumina’s proteomics product portfolio across Europe. The role will drive geographical, market and application expansion to meet financial targets and growth needs of the European region in this segment.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and maintain strong external and internal relationships with key proteomics stakeholders and utilise them to deliver sales and commercial growth opportunities in the region 

  • Work cross functionally to identify gaps and business opportunities, build effective processes and partner to develop strategic plans to address these opportunities and grow incremental business 

  • Build processes to define best practices in assessing strategic growth opportunities in the proteomics space, build deployable growth models and ensure accountability to achieve impactful outcomes 

  • In partnership with regional Marketing and the cross-functions, facilitate business case development, defining investment needs, go to market strategies, partner deliverables and expansion opportunities 

  • Develop, implement and monitor the regional commercial growth plans (through identification of key success metrics) for Illumina’s proteomics portfolio to meet both the revenue and strategic goals 

  • Be a key partner in sales and marketing execution across Europe, by working with subregional teams to develop and facilitate adoption of the strategic plan to the regional teams. 

  • High-level collaboration with other cross functional teams & staff to ensure coordination of activities and understanding of common goals. 

  • Provide strategic and competitive feedback to the regional marketing team and partner to develop robust competitive strategies. 

  • Develop programs and tools to ensure effective commercial growth management and communication 

  • Provide regular updates to Sr Management on commercial growth progress, actions and outcomes 

 

All About You Requirements:  

  • Significant experience in sales (life sciences or related industries required) 

  • Experience in multiomics and proteomics field (e,g., mass spectrometry, proteomics and multiomics methods using next generation sequencing) is preferred 

  • Experience and understanding of genomic technologies and how they can be utilized in the proteomics market 

  • The ability to evaluate new market opportunities 

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills; Proficiency in English is a must 

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time 

  • Proven ability to lead and influence a broad spectrum of constituents (product management, sales, etc.) with divergent interests to create a defined and focused course of action
