Job Description

We are seeking a strategic, proactive, and resourceful Executive Assistant to support our Senior Group Finance Director. This unique opportunity allows you to significantly influence Wise’s mission to save billions for customers around the world by providing high-level support to our financial leadership and advancing key strategic initiatives.

Your Mission:

Wise is building a world without borders, creating fair and easy ways to manage money across international lines. As we continue our rapid growth, you will become a strategic partner and administrative cornerstone for the finance team, particularly supporting the Senior Group Finance Director. Based in our London Shoreditch office, you will engage deeply with finance operations, driving initiatives, tracking progress, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.

Your ability to build relationships, influence key stakeholders, and ensure the seamless execution of organisational objectives will be pivotal to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a critical liaison between the Senior Group Finance Director and key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and strategic alignment. Provide insights into business discussions and assist in facilitating high-level decision-making processes.

  • Initiative Tracking and Management: Oversee the tracking and execution of major finance initiatives and action items. Ensure timely follow-up and completion in alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Project Coordination: Lead and support key finance projects, orchestrating efforts across cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful implementation of strategic initiatives that further Wise’s mission.

  • Comprehensive Administrative Support: Deliver high-level executive support to the Senior Group Finance Director, including managing complex calendars and coordinating international travel and related logistics.

  • Finance Leadership Support: Facilitate all activities of the Finance Leadership team, including managing meeting agendas, taking comprehensive notes, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-through and accountability.

  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute internal conferences, team off-sites, and other significant finance-related events with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Operational and Financial Support: Support hiring processes and cost planning within the Group Finance team, ensuring alignment with budgetary and strategic priorities.

  • Internal Communications: Draft and disseminate internal communications for the Finance team, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with the organisation’s messaging goals.

  • Financial Analysis Support: Collaborate closely with the finance team to support streamlined processes and contribute to financial analysis and reporting efforts.

A Bit About You:

  • You have over 3 years of experience as an Executive Assistant and at least 5 years of overall professional experience, ideally in a dynamic, high-growth company supporting global teams.

  • Prior experience with or exposure to finance functions is preferred.

  • You are a self-starter with the proven ability to work independently, identifying gaps and implementing process optimizations with minimal supervision.

  • Your exceptional organisational skills enable you to juggle multiple responsibilities with precision and keen attention to detail.

  • You possess excellent communication skills, adept at tailoring your communication style to suit different situations and audiences.

  • A creative problem solver, you thrive in ambiguous environments, devising unique solutions that address specific challenges.

  • You exercise discretion and apply sound judgement in all interactions, handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

  • You are proficient in using Google Suite and collaboration tools like Slack, plus basic data analysis using Google Spreadsheets.
