The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our multi-disciplinary product team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, providing technical leadership, and ensuring seamless collaboration with Delivery and Product Leads. This role involves managing recruitment and retention, mentoring engineers, and driving the successful delivery and support of the team's services.

Key Requirements:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, retain, and manage engineering staff within the team’s scope.
    • Lead a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Mentor Senior and Junior Developer/DevOps engineers, supporting their professional growth.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Delivery Lead and Product Lead to align engineering efforts with product goals.
    • Actively participate and provide key input in agile ceremonies, ensuring effective team collaboration.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance based on extensive experience, working closely with Senior engineers in both own and adjacent teams.
    • Maintain a detailed understanding of the team's products, their dependencies, and their support requirements.
  • Support and Release Activities:
    • Lead support activities, ensuring the team’s products are reliable and performant.
    • Manage release activities, ensuring smooth and timely deployments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
  • Experience with Camunda for process automation.
  • Strong knowledge of React.js for frontend development.
  • Expertise in Python and Flask for developing scalable applications.
  • Familiarity with Postgres for database management.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWSDocker, and Kubernetes for cloud and containerization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in a product-focused environment.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in the mentioned technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide engineers.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and their application in software development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
