Programme Overview
Wells Fargo's Banking internship offers the opportunity to support complex transactions and strategic advisory work for leading corporates and institutions. The programme is designed to introduce you to the core activities of investment banking within a collaborative and professional environment.
During this ten-week programme, you will join teams such as Investment Banking (Mergers and Acquisitions, Fund Finance or Debt Capital Markets and Advisory) as well as our Corporate Banking teams. These teams help clients raise debt and equity capital, pursue growth opportunities, and manage financing risk. You will work on research and analysis, assist with presentations, and gain exposure to the internal processes that support live deals. Training and mentorship are built into the programme to help you grow your technical knowledge and professional confidence.
Summer Analyst Programme 2027
The programme duration is 10 weeks starting in late June 2027 and is designed to provide you with the unique opportunity to discover our CIB business, culture, and how we collaborate to deliver solutions for our clients. The programme offers organised activities such as classroom training and networking opportunities to boost your professional development.
Banking and Capital Markets ("BCM") Overview
The BCM team sits within Wells Fargo's Corporate and Investment Bank and is dedicated to understanding the unique competitive and operating environments of our clients. Combining strong relationships and industry knowledge with superior capital markets and advisory capabilities, our team excels in delivering exceptional execution. BCM is organised across coverage and product teams, covering Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions, Fund Finance, and M&A, among others.

During the Banking Internship, your responsibilities may include:
  • Conducting company and industry research
  • Analysing historical financial performance and modelling future outcomes to assess credit risk
  • Creating client marketing materials using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assisting in preparing credit underwriting presentations for Risk Committee approval
  • Monitoring client developments and preparing updates for leadership
Required
  • Penultimate year undergraduate with an expected graduation date of June 2028
  • Demonstrable interest in finance through work experience or extra-curricular achievement
  • A record of academic excellence
  • Fluent in English
Desired
  • Knowledge of an additional European language would be beneficial due to the international nature of our EMEA business and client relationships
  • An engaging and collaborative approach, with the ability to remain organised, adaptable and attentive to detail
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to quickly evaluate and solve analytical problems, with a basic understanding of mathematical principles
