Role: Ecommerce Manager | Category 

Reporting to: Head of Ecommerce 

Brand: Myprotein 

Location: THG HQ, Manchester (WA15 0AF) - Fully Office Based

Role Overview 

As the Ecommerce Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving the online commercial success of multiple product categories within the Myprotein portfolio, including Clothing, Vitamins, Bars, Foods, Snacks (BFS), Hydration, and Core Nutrition. You will optimise the ecommerce strategy for these categories, ensuring commercial growth and customer engagement across global markets. 

Key Responsibilities 

Category Performance & Strategy 

  • Develop and implement category strategies to maximise online sales, market share, and profitability. 
  • Analyse internal insights (sales data, pricing trends, site metrics) to make data-driven decisions that optimise category performance. 
  • Identify category growth opportunities, leveraging global and regional insights to tailor strategies for each market. 
  • Conduct frequent site audits to ensure optimal customer experience (CX) and category visibility. 

Market & Competitor Analysis 

  • Monitor external market trends, including competitor pricing, innovation, and emerging category trends. 
  • Leverage insights to develop category plans and influence product launches, pricing, and promotional strategies. 
  • Collaborate with the Brand & Marketing teams to align product positioning with industry trends and customer demand. 

Pricing & Promotion Optimisation 

  • Own the pricing strategy for assigned categories, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in each market. 
  • Work closely with country managers to optimise pricing across Myprotein sites, balancing growth and margin targets. 
  • Develop and implement promotional plans, working with digital marketing teams to drive customer acquisition and retention. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with supply chain & production teams to ensure optimal stock availability across all international warehouses. 
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance & logistics to improve cost efficiencies and bottom-line profitability. 
  • Support senior stakeholders in optimising locale mix, reducing cost prices, and managing discount strategies. 
  • Work closely with customer service teams to address category-specific customer concerns, ensuring a customer-centric approach to category management. 

Performance Tracking & Reporting 

  • Establish and maintain reporting processes to track category performance at a territory level. 
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders. 
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies accordingly to drive category success. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Proven experience in Ecommerce, Category Management, or Digital Trading, ideally within retail, FMCG, or nutrition sectors. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies. 
  • Commercial mindset with experience in pricing, promotion, and margin optimisation. 
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders across marketing, finance, supply chain, and country teams. 
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of customer experience (CX) and ecommerce best practices. 
  • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., BI platforms i.e. Tableau) and ecommerce platforms. 
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Proficiency in SQL would be desirable as well, but not essential
