Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking Payments Technology team, you will be leading a technical area and promoting impactful changes across teams, technologies, and projects. Your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management will be utilized to manage multiple complex projects and initiatives. You will be a catalyst for innovation and solution delivery. JPMorgan Chase, a leader in the payments industry, processes payments averaging $10 trillion dollars, representing 24% of the market. We are constantly innovating, adding new payment methods like JP Coin, expanding into new markets, and accelerating settlement speeds such as real-time payments. - Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Holds accountability for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Possesses deep expertise with cloud implementations and security controls
- Strives to adopt newer technologies including AI-ML
- Demonstrates expertise with implementing reliable platforms with triple or more 9s
- Maintains problem solving mind-set
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience. In addition, expert experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Practical cloud native experience
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Deeper understanding of technologies: Pyspark, AWS Cloud, Databricks, Java
- Experience implementing scaled platforms
- Exellent communication skills to cater to diverse stakeholders

- Experience working at code level
- Understanding of the regulations in EMEA
- Adept at working in multiple timezones

- Masters or Ph.D preferred in software or data engineering disciplines
