About the role

The Digital Marketing (Content) Specialist is responsible for the creation of the content strategy for Helen of Troy’s DTC sites for Sport & Outdoor, Homeware, Beauty & Wellness brands. This role operates autonomously within their designated channel. His/her scope includes content uploading, on platform SEO and content audits. Partnering with the cross-functional teams, including Brand, Retail, eBusiness, Data & Insights and the broader digital team, to ensure a cohesive and impactful digital content approach.

What you’ll do in the role

Content Strategy & SEO:

  • Design and implement content strategies/campaigns to drive consistent branding and achieve higher conversion/user engagement.
  • Plan yearly content budget for DTC related activities while raising the necessary PO’s.
  • Manage autonomously different CMS types knowing the platforms inside out.
  • Manages & briefs content/SEO vendors enabling X-brand learnings for higher efficiency.
  • Explore, identify, and recommend emerging platforms to foster innovation.
  • Organize and lead cross-functional team meetings to collect, review, and upload digital content to DTC sites, adhering to brand guidelines and specifications.
  • Partner closely with the brand teams to get the right content that matches the target audience and business goals.
  • Partner closely with the DTC team to match the right deadlines for content updates.
  • Implement in-platform SEO techniques to optimize content visibility and searchability.
  • Apply small tweaks on content to make it work properly for each DTC site.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper formatting of all uploaded content, including text, images, videos, and product information.
  • Utilize relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and other SEO best practices to enhance content discoverability.
  • Work with agencies on wider SEO projects
  • Lead the DTC blogs and independently find ways to scale content.

Audits and Content Calendar:

  • Leads the high-level content calendar, involving the right stakeholders to populate to update their part while providing the wider teams with visibility on content updates.
  • Lead content audits that cover all DTC sites for all brands & recommend improvements.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure content quality, consistency, and adherence to brand messaging and standards.
  • Identify and rectify any errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies in uploaded content.
  • Understand the content world outside of DTC and can back up the retail/Brand sites/AMZ platforms in case of high work volume.

KPIs & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze content performance metrics, comparing the impact before and after content updates against business KPIs.
  • Use data insights to report regularly on content effectiveness, engagement levels, and conversion rates.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in content marketing at retail & project management tools.

What will help you do the job well

🗝 Essential:

  • University degree (Economics, Business, Marketing or equivalent)
  • 2+ years’ experience in digital/content marketing 
  • Proven experience in successfully managing content projects
  • Up to date with latest trends and best practices of digital.
  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing tools and online metrics.
  • Exposure to the EMEA region and familiarity with diverse markets and cultures is beneficial.
  • Strong MS office knowledge 
  • Project management skills in a matrix organization a plus.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), French a plus.
