Job Description
The role advertised sits within the marketing team in the Life Sciences Division of Informa Connect, based in London. This role has been created to help support the marketing team's growth plan and will report into the Head of Digital Insights and Data Operations.
As a Digital Marketing Specialist – SEO, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing the discoverability and performance of our event websites across various Life Sciences communities. Collaborating closely with Pillar Marketing Teams, you will conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits and develop robust, data-driven SEO strategies for continuous improvement across Informa Connect Life Sciences’ media and events properties.
Your primary focus will be on driving organic traffic, expanding brand reach, and enhancing audience engagement and conversion. You will lead the tracking and analysis of all SEO campaigns, delivering actionable insights to maximize their impact in alignment with overarching marketing objectives.
In addition to hands-on implementation, you will embed SEO best practices across marketing and media teams, providing training and support to ensure sustained excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the digital presence of our events and contribute to X’s growth in the Life Sciences sector.
Areas of Responsibility / Additional Information / The right candidate will be expected to lead on:
- SEO Strategy Development Define and implement effective SEO strategies to increase organic search traffic, referrals, and crawlability across various Life Sciences’ brands and properties, aligning efforts with Pillar marketing objectives.
- SEO Audits and Analysis Conduct thorough SEO audits of key Life Science properties to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring alignment with overarching marketing strategies.
- Audience and Industry Research Perform in-depth research on target audiences and industry trends to maximize the effectiveness of SEO tactics and ensure content relevance.
- Keyword Optimization Conduct detailed keyword research, prioritizing high-value terms based on search volume and competitiveness to enhance content visibility and ranking.
- Content Strategy and Guidance Collaborate with the Content Manager to develop and optimize website content, suggesting topics and formats that align with brand goals and keyword opportunities across both paid and organic initiatives.
- On-page and Technical SEO Optimize on-page elements and advise on landing page enhancements to boost discoverability, user engagement, and conversion rates.
- Offsite SEO and Backlinking Identify and pursue offsite SEO opportunities, including strategic backlink partnerships, to strengthen domain authority and referral traffic.
- Competitor Analysis Analyse competitors to uncover keyword opportunities and develop strategic optimizations that maintain a competitive edge.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting Monitor and report on organic search and referral traffic performance using tools like Google Analytics, assessing impact on audience growth and conversions.
- Regular SEO Insights Create bi-weekly SEO trackers with analysis, commentary, and actionable recommendations for key stakeholders and teams.
- Performance Reviews Develop detailed wash-up reports summarizing organic traffic performance, keyword ranking improvements, and domain authority growth.
- Training and Best Practices Conduct upskilling sessions to embed SEO best practices across Pillar marketing and editorial teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay Current with Trends Keep abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and tools to ensure ongoing optimization and future-readiness of SEO strategies.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in Marketing, or a digital-related field
- Google AdWords Certification.
- Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ).
- Significant experience in digital marketing and communications, growing a brand’s presence, traffic and sales/conversions as well as tracking ROI.
- A solid understanding of Google Analytics and related tracking technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, especially LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram, with a strong sense of different community behaviours and experience using social media to drive ROI and business goals.
- Experience with digital media buying and remarketing tactics.
- A solid understanding of how to analyse campaign effectiveness, recreate successful campaigns, and optimise sub-optimal campaigns.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Adept at quickly learning a broad array of technologies and applying that knowledge to real world business problems.
- A proven success in a high growth, rapidly changing environment.
- B2B events marketing experience and ability to adapt quickly to different business verticals.
- Experience with working and managing campaigns with external agencies.
