About the role
Olive Jar Digital is looking for a Data Scientist to play a key role in shaping and delivering several innovative AI initiatives. You will work across Discovery and Alpha phases to turn complex problems into data-driven solutions, helping to refine problem statements, develop prototypes, and evaluate machine learning models.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys experimentation, rapid iteration, and working closely with engineering, product, research and design teams to bring AI concepts to life.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse data sources, validate problem statements, and highlight gaps or dependencies.
  • Build, refine, and iterate machine learning models and AI prototypes.
  • Contribute to technical design documentation (model choices, data pipelines, architecture).
  • Evaluate models using success metrics, KPIs, performance analysis and bias checks.
  • Support functional, regression and performance testing for models and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with engineers on deployment pipelines, telemetry, and automated testing.
  • Produce clear documentation and contribute to playback sessions and assessment reports.

About You
  • Strong hands-on experience in data science and machine learning.
  • Skilled in model development, evaluation, and iterative experimentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Clear communication of technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with NLP, LLMs, vector search or intelligent search tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to Discovery/Alpha delivery or rapid prototyping.
