Mission Statement

At NewDay Data quality is integral to what we do. The Data Quality Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory integrity of financial data within a fast paced environment. This role focuses on embedding robust data quality controls across complex, high-volume data sets, supporting regulatory compliance, and enabling trusted, data-driven decision-making for both technical and commercial teams.

How You'll contribute

  • Design, implement, and maintain data profiling, cleansing, validation processes, and automated quality checks for financial data, including dashboards to continuously monitor data integrity and performance.

  • Perform in-depth root cause analysis to identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and gaps, working closely with IT, data engineering, risk, compliance, data stewards, and data owners to resolve issues and strengthen data governance.

  • Define, implement, and promote data quality standards, policies, and best practices in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR), ensuring consistent adherence across the organisation.

  • Produce comprehensive data quality reports, documentation, and visualisations to support audits, compliance activities, and informed decision-making by senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Translate complex data quality metrics and findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical teams, driving continuous improvement in data usage and trust.

We're looking for these essential skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Strong experience in data quality management, data governance, or a data analysis role, preferably within a financial services environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake leveraging its data warehousing capabilities to design, test, and maintain high-quality datasets.

  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data manipulation.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI & Grafana) and data quality/orchestration software.

  • Knowledge of ETL processes and modern data warehousing concepts.

Its a plus if you also have these skills

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

  • Prior exposure to data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements in the UK financial sector.

  • Relevant certifications in data management or analytics (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).
