Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Data Governance Lead-Privacy Champion, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our global privacy program.
As a Data Governance Lead - Privacy Champion at JPMorgan Chase within the Global HR and Employee Experience Data Governance team, you will work to ensures compliance to the firm-wide Data Governance Policy and Standards. You will perform various functions within data privacy domain such as responding to privacy incidents, data subject requests; assessing data protection impact of personal data usage and reviewing and responding to regulatory events / legal obligations changes across various business areas.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper reporting of data privacy metrics, escalation, and remediation of non-compliant metrics
  • Act as a point of contact for privacy inquiries within their assigned responsible areas
  • Review, assess, and provide feedback on data protection impact of personal data usage
  • Review and respond to regulatory events and legal obligations changes
  • Lead severe privacy incidents responses
  • Lead strategic initiatives to reduce data risks that impact the effectiveness of HR & EX processes and controls
  • Develop and maintain HR/EX data privacy governing documents that specify the implementation processes and controls to meet the requirements specified in various Firmwide Personal Data & Protection Policies and Standards across various business areas
  • Establish & maintain the required HR/EX privacy governance documents aligned with various firmwide personal data & protection policies & standards
  • Engage and coordinate with stakeholders to drive the implementation of data privacy controls
  • Support strategic privacy initiatives and lead/contribute to privacy-related projects
  • Promote privacy awareness and educate colleagues about privacy principles, policies, and procedures


Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Working experience in data management, business controls, data risk management or technology controls.
  • Deep understanding of various privacy regulations / laws such as GDPR
  • Experience in creating & implementing data privacy policies / standards / procedures
  • Experience in data risk management with an understanding of the risk and controls concepts
  • Communicate effectively with a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust with the stakeholders, understanding their needs, have a problem-solving attitude, manage expectations and negotiate where required
