Mō te tūranga | About the Role

The Transaction Data Product (TDP) Service is an integral part of the Technology Engineering team under the DPAI service. TDP’s mission is to deliver top-notch data products that serve as the ultimate provider for all WNZL transactions to our consumers. We're a dynamic group of skilled professionals who thrive on collaboration and innovation.

This role will involve data engineering duties, technical and domain expertise to both users and IT employees, covering all aspects of the design, build, maintain, configuration, testing and enhancement.

Essential:

• Working knowledge of Software / Application Development principles, lifecycle, models and application development concepts. 

• Able to understand new development techniques and vendor products

• Validate functionality and performance of new development projects within the corresponding application system. 

• Apache data ecosystem: HDFS; SPARK, Scala/PySpark

• Kafka, Java, Python, Git, Virtualisation expertise

• Virtualisation especially AWS / Cloud

• Diagnose and solve technical issued that may arise during the application life cycle. 

• Participate in projects and planning sessions as required. 

• Applies effective Quality Assurance and process improvement activities. 

• Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science, Business or an associated discipline. 

• Certification for relevant technical and management disciplines. 

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment. 

Preferred:

• Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science, Business or an associated discipline.

• Certification for relevant technical and management disciplines.

• Awareness of the latest data technology trends and products on the market to assist in proposing solutions for data use cases

• Demonstrated relevant IT experience in application development. 

• Technology Domain Knowledge – Applications. 

• Experience in IT Quality processes. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage & resolve service and operational problems, including root cause analysis.  

• Demonstrated experience of analysis, assessment and delivery of appropriate recommendations. 

• Proven ability to own tasks, issues & plans and manage / drive them through to completion. 

• Experience in driving work to completion that requires others to actually undertake the work or associated tasks.  

• General banking experience. 

• Understanding of Service Delivery.
