ROLE BRIEF
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Data Engineer to join our team. The role will be involved with all aspects of data management and transformations to support business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with Spectrum.Life colleagues to gather requirements to support and develop the reporting data landscape to deliver high-quality data, including automation, for onward processing and consumption.
- Evaluate, develop, and support initiatives for handling, processing, and cleansing data to ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and quality of data & information standards are adhered to.
- Ensure all regular tasks, including scheduled extracts are processed on a timely basis with accurate data.
- Exposure to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google BigQuery
- Experience in healthcare industry
- Support managing requests, including handling data validation and ad-hoc queries.
- Produce and maintain documentation of data processes, workflows, and systems, and generating reports to provide insights into data operations and performance
- This is not a restrictive list of duties, and candidate may be required to carry out additional tasks within their capability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 - 3 years of Data Engineering experience
- Good understanding of data management concepts, such as data dictionaries, glossaries
- Experience with Python scripting for data transformation using Pandas
- Experience with public cloud environments (preferably AWS)
- Competent with SQL
- Experience building lineage visualisations and/or implementing data quality rules
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of verbal, written and presentation skills
DESIRABLE:
- Experience using JIRA and agile methodologies
- Exposure to data integration platforms (preferably AWS Glue)
- University degree or comparable qualification
- Experience in healthcare industry
