We are now looking for a

CSE Engineer, Marine

at the Monfalcone shipyard KONE Site office Monfalcone in Italy.

CSE Engineer, Marine is accountable for overall solution for the customer, including integrations, solutions, services and products. He/she/they takes responsibility to define the specifications, and engineering lead times in co-operation with other Front-Line parties, Supply Line, and Area and Global support functions.

CSE Engineer, Marine works at the customer interface, is an expert on solution selling and participates in customer meetings when needed. He/she/they has a deep understanding of new and existing KONE solutions and services (e.g. project management, installation and maintenance) across business lines and has a holistic understanding of certain customer segments, cruise, ferry and cargo ships.

CSE Engineer, Marine takes into consideration all product and service costing and planning aspects when defining a solution e.g. corporate materials from the supply line, local materials from sourcing, costing of engineering, installation and impact on maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with sales. Being responsible for finding an optimal technical solution to meet the customer need for non-standard and modernization cases. Ensuring clarity on the solution’s scope, including KONE and possible third-party offerings. Active participation in customer meetings and answering customers’ technical questions. Providing content for pre-tender and pre-booking reviews (technical solutions, costs, lead times, risks, verification of technical content in contracts, etc.)
  • Solution planning. Being accountable for the technical content of the order to delivery phase. Ensuring that the proposed solution fulfils the customer’s product lifecycle needs and coordinate engineering schedules between Supply line and customer.
  • Delivery process. Beig accountable for layout coordination. Analyzing change requirements and making proposals for the new solution plan. Providing solution-related information to Sales, Project Managers, Installation Supervisors and Maintenance Supervisors.
  • General responsibilities. Offering input to the product offering management about customisation, standardisation and interface requirements for the portfolio. Contributing Contribution to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network. Being the primary front line technical contact person for the Supply Line Tendering Engineers.

We expect you to have

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience in the Marine business.
  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Fluent in English and Italian language
  • Holistic understanding of different Marine solution types and customer segments
  • Good solution and value-selling skills
  • Excellent skills in understanding and translating customer into KONE technical specifications.
  • Understanding of Marine installation processes
  • Excellent technical knowledge of KONE current and future solutions
  • Good knowledge of KONE Marine solution-related codes and standards
  • Good engineering tool skills e.g. CAD
  • Basic knowledge of competitors’ technical solutions
  • Good understanding of all the required elements for solution total costing
  • Good virtual collaboration skills
  • Good team player
  • IT literacy
  • Good communications skills
  • Technical understanding of offerings in Marine environment
  • Understanding of KONE quality management procedures and knowledge of supply operations and supply engineering would be an advantage.
