Job Title: Cost Controller
Location: Manchester
Hybrid Working: 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH.

Role Overview:

 

We are currently looking for a Cost Controller to join our Financial Shared Service Centre in Manchester, UK.

 

You will be part of a team covering the end-to-end process and get to learn about different areas of the business such as sales, marketing, admin and R&D, alongside a broad finance responsibilities. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensure accurate month-end close (accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, cost center reviews) 
  • Report and explain results to Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders 
  • Plan costs and FTEs during Budget and Outlook cycles 
  • Provide financial advice and support to decision making: advise on costs, FTEs, planning and reporting 
  • Support improvement initiatives 
  • Develop positive relationships with Finance and Business collaborators 

 

 

Key requirements: 

 

  • Degree in a relevant Finance related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in finance related functions (controlling preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively in order to explain financial concepts to non-finance people
  • Solid organizational, planning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, and general computer skills particularly with accounting systems (SAP preferred) and reporting (BW)
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
