Internal Communications Manager

Reporting to: Head of Internal Communications

Job Description

Strategic communications

· Partner with the Head of Internal Communications to develop and deliver the global internal communications strategy, aligned with Apex Group’s mission, values, and business priorities across channels including Poppulo, SnapComms, and Grapevine.

· Build strong stakeholder relationships and work closely with senior leaders to develop clear, consistent messaging that supports business change, growth, and transformation.

Content creation and storytelling

· Produce high-quality content across multiple channels, including intranet, newsletters, leadership updates, video scripts, and talking points.

· Bring Apex Group’s culture to life by showcasing employee stories, achievements, and initiatives across platforms such as SnapComms and the global monthly newsletter.

Employee engagement

· Monitor employee sentiment and feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness.

· Manage SnapComms (desktop background application), ensuring schedules are maintained, aligned with key messaging priorities, and delivered on time.

Channel management

· Oversee internal communication platforms such as SnapComms and Grapevine, ensuring they are engaging, user-friendly, and aligned with best practices.

· Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., SnapComms) to optimise platform usage, reporting, and enhancements.

· Support the rollout of new tools such as Viva Engage, initially regionally and expanding globally.

Change and transformation support

· Partner with the Head of Internal Communications to plan and deliver communications for business changes, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment across regions.

· Provide guidance to leaders and managers on effective communication during periods of change.

Webcast and event support

· Support the planning and delivery of global and business function webcasts, including content development, coordination of materials, and distribution across internal channels.

· Partner with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Internal Communications team to plan and deliver the annual Senior Management Conference.

· Ensure all webcast and event communications are delivered seamlessly, aligned to key messaging, and supported by clear pre- and post-event engagement.

Reporting

· Collaborate with the Internal Communications team to produce monthly and quarterly reports for key stakeholders, including the CMCO and regional heads.

· Lead and facilitate quarterly reporting calls with regional stakeholders.

Key skills and experience

· Proven experience in internal communications within a global or complex organisation.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.

· Confident stakeholder management, with experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing across different levels of the organisation.

· Strong editorial judgement and storytelling capability across multiple formats and channels.

· Experience managing internal communication platforms and tools (e.g., intranet, email platforms, employee engagement tools).

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), with strong PowerPoint skills for executive-level presentations and reporting.

· Experience using analytics and reporting to measure communication effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail.

· Experience supporting change and transformation communications.

· Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global teams and regions.
