About the Role

BJSS is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Leeds-based finance team within the commercial finance department.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone who is looking to work in a fast-paced technology consultancy environment.  You will join a growing, business facing finance team and play a key role in delivering best in class performance analysis and forecasts to the business.

Key responsibilities:

You will provide analytical support to the Commercial Finance Business Partners to ensure that business reporting is completed accurately and within the agreed deadline.

This will include:

  • Ownership of monthly variance analysis between actuals and Budget/Forecasts, providing insight and recommendations to drive profitability and business performance
  • Provide detailed analysis and support to determine the drivers of any variances in sales, margin, direct costs and overheads
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders through regular and ad-hoc P&L reviews
  • Manage and evolve the bi-weekly reforecast process alongside the Commercial Finance Business Partners through regular dialogue with business stakeholders
  • Deliver ad-hoc insight and reporting, and review processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and timeliness of information
  • Play a key role in the preparation of Budgets and their presentation to senior management
  • This role is integral in developing and implementing ongoing improvements in financial data as well as processes and systems to support analysis and decision making across the global business
  • Assist in sourcing and analysing data sets from multiple financial systems using IT based data analysis tools

About You

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright minded and ambitious individual to join an evolving Finance function. You will be an experienced Finance Analyst with strong organisational skills and great verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.

You will have excellent IT skills and experience of working with large and multiple sources of data. Experience using data analytics tools such as Power BI/Tableau or similar is advantageous.

You should have a track record of demonstrable interest in the commercial elements of the business and wider industry themes and issues, and an ability to review processes with clarity and create efficiencies.  You will be flexible in your approach, have strong attention to detail as well as an engaging and personable attitude.

You will be naturally motivated, focused and organised.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working in an FP&A or Business Reporting function
  • Microsoft Office – Advanced Excel skills to enable manipulation of multiple data sources to deliver detailed analytics
  • Comfortable using numerous accounting packages with a good understanding of systems, especially not fully integrated systems
  • Experience of working in fast paced, dynamic environments
  • Experience with PowerBI or other database analysis/reporting tools
