Job Details
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Business Insights Manager role is to drive strategic decision-making and business performance improvement by providing high-level insights and data-driven recommendations.
The role involves engaging with key stakeholders, delivering comprehensive reports and analyses, and leveraging advanced data analytics to uncover growth opportunities and optimise business strategies. By ensuring data integrity, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and staying abreast of industry trends, the Business Insights Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organisation's data capabilities and supporting strategic objectives.
Principal Accountabilities:
1) Strategic Insight Delivery

  • Develop and deliver high-quality reports and dashboards that provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations.


  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business growth and efficiency improvements.


  • Translate analytical findings into clear and compelling narratives for senior leadership and decision-makers.


2) Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Engage with senior stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and information needs.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance) to integrate insights and support a unified data-driven strategy.


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making through effective communication of insights


3) Process Improvement and Technology Integration

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data analytics processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Advocate for and support the adoption of advanced business intelligence tools and technologies to expand analytical capabilities.


  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used in reporting and analysis


4) Industry Knowledge and Best Practices

  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging data analytics technologies, and market trends.


  • Conduct competitive analyses and benchmarking to provide context for strategic decisions.


  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for analytics processes.


5) Agile Product Ownership

  • Act as a Product Owner within an Agile framework, defining and prioritising the product backlog based on business needs and stakeholder feedback.


  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality data analytics products and solutions.


  • Continuously review and refine product features, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder requirements.


  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings to enhance team efficiency and product delivery.


6) Proficiency in data manipulation, cleansing, and transformation techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.


  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.


  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge, skills and Experience Required

  • Significant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.


  • Proven track record of delivering insights that drive business success.


  • Experience with advanced data visualisation and reporting techniques.


  • Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.


Success in this role will be primarily measured through:
