The Sales Team

The Sales team is responsible for identifying the best partnership opportunities for OpenZeppelin's team and reaching out to the most exciting projects in the web3 ecosystem.

As a Business Development Representative in the Sales team, you will serve as the first point of contact for founders and investors of new Web3 projects, facilitating our Business Development team and helping with day-to-day tasks. You will also spend a smaller portion of time driving new business opportunities with traditional financial markets (banking, fintech, Web2 gaming, etc).

What you'll do

  • Research and identify new partnership opportunities and projects that are an excellent fit for OpenZeppelin's services.
  • Map decision makers on channels including, but not limited to, Telegram, LinkedIn, Discord, Forums, emails, conferences, etc.
  • Create copy for targeted outreach.
  • Schedule calls with potential partners and clients.
  • Send timely follow-ups and track each partnership. Coordinate next steps.
  • Maintain relationships with existing partners and clients, send updates about OpenZeppelin's news, and coordinate activity with the marketing team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a selling role (sales, business development, or partnerships specifically).
  • 1+ years of experience in B2B lead generation.
  • Passion and/or experience with blockchain technology, open-source, cybersecurity, or similar highly technical industry.
  • Excellent research skills, ability to skim long documents and information, and identify key points.
  • Experience with a CRM (ideally Hubspot), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email mining tools, and Messari.
  • Concise communication style and ability to convey information in a short and clear format via text, email, and video conferencing.
  • Curiosity to learn new things and explore innovative ideas.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to manage your own time, report on goals, and assess the progress of your work.
  • Experience working at a fully-remote company.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling products and services to developers and other technical customers.
  • Experience working at a technology startup.
  • Basic technical knowledge of (or hands on technical experience in) smart contracts, DeFi, DAOs, and Layer 2 Rollups.

Location

This is a 100% remote position with some travel required to the United States and European Union. Additionally, we are only hiring in the following time zone range:

  •  UTC -8 to UTC +3

  • Recruiter call (30-45 minutes)
  • Hiring Manager call (30 minutes)
  • Team member interview (30 minutes)
  • Leadership call (30 minutes)
  • Paid work test (no more than 3-5 days)
