Job Description

About the Role

Fortune Brands Innovations, Outdoors, home to leading brands of Therma-Tru, Fiberon, Fypon, Larson, and Solar Innovations, is seeking a Business Development Manager – Repair & Remodel. This role is responsible for developing and executing market strategies to engage national and regional Repair & Remodel specialty dealers and contractors, driving conversion and expanding market share across all brands in the Southeast US. The territory includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Caroline, Philadelphia, and the DC Metro areas.  

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Strategic Accounts and collaborate with both the strategic account manager and the territory managers to achieve growth objectives. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to travel up to 70% of the time.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $95K – $115K, plus bonus opportunities based on territory performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with specialty dealers, remodeling contractors, installers, and key customer accounts across the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the primary field representative and trusted advisor, advocating for customer needs while delivering exceptional support and responsiveness.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to increase product adoption, market share, customer revenue, and brand presence within local markets.
  • Partner with distributor sales teams to conduct joint sales calls and execute targeted initiatives that accelerate growth in the Repair & Remodel (R&R) segment.
  • Provide consultative business support to customers by identifying growth opportunities, developing action plans, and strengthening contractor loyalty and retention.
  • Deliver product, sales, and in-home selling training programs that enhance customer product knowledge, engagement, and selling effectiveness.
  • Plan and support educational events, plant tours, trade shows, home shows, and other market development activities to generate demand, qualified leads, and new partnership opportunities.
  • Work directly with contractors and installers to improve product confidence, installation capability, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Lead territory-specific growth initiatives, customer blitzes, and business development activities designed to increase awareness, engagement, and market penetration.
  • Maintain a strong market presence and provide ongoing insights and recommendations to support strategic growth opportunities within the territory.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in outside sales, channel sales, contractor sales, building products, remodeling, construction, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to develop strong customer relationships and drive sales growth.
  • Experience delivering customer training and presentations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and functions to achieve shared objectives.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Experience with or background that includes In-Home Selling.
  • Experience in 2-step distribution in building materials.

 

    Additional Information

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $95,000 USD - $115,00 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
