Job Description
Present in Italy since 1982, Takeda has two plasma-derived drug production sites in Rieti and Pisa, supporting patients with rare and complex diseases. About the position:
As an Automation Engineer at Takeda, you'll oversee and enhance the performance of plant computerized systems, focusing on SCADA, PLC-based equipment, SQL databases, and digital archives. By managing complex systems and leading technical projects, you'll ensure seamless production and promote continuous improvement. You'll be a vital link between multiple teams, guiding validation processes and fostering innovation. You will report to the Automation Lead.
Your main responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize computerized systems for diagnostics and performance enhancement.
  • Lead automation and electrical engineering projects from initiation to execution and handover.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical infrastructure and automation, providing technical evaluations and oversight.
  • Support maintenance and production teams in problem-solving for automation systems.
  • Ensure up-to-date engineering documentation adheres to quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for effective project execution.
  • Make strategic decisions and escalate issues, ensuring timely communication with senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for investigations, change control, and audits.
  • Maintain communication with external equipment suppliers, ensuring alignment with requirements.

Your profile:
  • Degree in the field of Information Sciences or automation / robotics engineering with knowing how to read an electrical diagram (basics, voltage and current tare)
  • Minimum previous experience (internship or short fixed term contract).
  • Practical knowledge in programming languages like C/C++
  • Knowledge of database (SQL)
  • University experience in robotics courses (anthropomorphic arms or axis management), PID management.
  • Artificial intelligence skills - nice to have.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English and Italian.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and virtual environments.
  • Proactive in proposing innovative technical solutions and problem-solving.
