Job Description

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Team in Warrington, we are looking enhance our capabilities and are seeking to recruit an Associate Project Manager to work on one of our high-profile projects.
In this high-profile role, you will be one of the first points of direct contact with the external client/s for the delivery progress, commercial and contractual responsibilities on the project, working closely with the AECOM Senior Project Engineering Manager, Associate Commercial Project Manager and the Senior Projects Leads.
The project is about to enter a new stage, and we are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team, to work through the current and forthcoming design phases, the implementation on site and subsequent commissioning. It is currently expected that the project will continue for a minimum of another 3 – 4 years.
Your role will involve client-side management including actively providing progress reports and financial reports, while managing and maintaining stakeholder relationships with client and their team, internal AECOM project resources, the internal AECOM Operations Team and other relevant project parties.

- Collaborate with a vibrant and diverse team to manage and deliver projects successfully.
- Serve as a main point of contact with external clients, handling progress updates, commercial matters, and contractual responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks, implementing solutions to address any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
The successful Associate Project Manager will have/be able to:
- Have extensive relevant professional client-side project management experience.
- Demonstrate strong experience in performing the role of the Associate Project Manager on high profile projects.
- Have extensive experience in effectively delivering projects on time and on budget, meeting quality and client expectations.
- Co-ordinate project schedules, key milestones to ensure a firm scope-baseline schedule is established and properly resourced.
- To implement an effective project management process throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Clearly communicate with all internal and external project stakeholders, including the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Prepare Change Requests for notifications detailing potential /actual changes to the project’s scope / delivery timescales and support negotiations with the client as required.
- Ensure development and adherence to the projects approved scope of work.
- Provide Project Management support to the Senior Project Engineering Manager, Work Pack Leads and Lead Design Engineers as required.
- Participate in the management and updating of the project’s organisation structure, project execution plan and project quality plans.
- To operate as the main point of contact for all commercial, financial requests for the project, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members.
- Establish, track and report status against key performance indicators or contractual metrics on a routine basis.
- Establish operating budgets in conjunction with the client, Senior Project Engineering Manager, Associate Commercial Project Manager and the Nuclear Teams Operations and Financial Leads, to ensure accurate monthly forecasts (update to EACS) of cost, schedule, and resource utilisation.
- Work as a key team player that can work within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team ensuring a collaborative environment.
- Ability to use various Project Management Software supported by excellent IT skills.
- Work as a results-driven motivated individual with a client focused approach to project delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving license or equivalent that permits driving in the UK.
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Qualification (APM).
- Member of the Association of Project Managers.
- Competency in utilising Project Management tools such as Primavera.
- A British National i.e. not a Dual nationality/passport holder.
