About the Role:

We're looking for an Associate Marketing Manager to join our Health Sciences Journal Marketing team. You'll take ownership of a select subject portfolio spanning both proprietary and society-owned titles, building the marketing strategies that grow key partner relationships and keep our partners renewing with confidence.

Together with the Associate Director, Journal Marketing, you'll develop customer-focused, data-driven plans that strengthen our relationships with researchers and authors, and you'll see your impact in article submissions, revenue, readership growth, and society satisfaction. You'll also craft compelling go-to-market strategies for a portfolio of journal brands across health sciences.

We're looking for a results-oriented marketer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to grow their client-facing skills and creativity.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Journal Marketing, you'll work closely with Publishing colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders across to grow article submissions, revenue, and readership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement brand awareness and lead generation strategies that build and strengthen our health sciences portfolio.

  • Build effective product positioning, messaging, and market strategies

  • Provide marketing support and creative solutions across a range of subject areas within the health sciences portfolio.

  • Own key partner relationships, including preparing marketing overviews that show the real impact of our work heading into contract renewals.

  • Communicate results and best practices clearly to external stakeholders, building trust along the way.

  • Maintain and grow both internal and external relationships that make our partnerships stronger.

  • Review market intelligence, research, and competitor activity to understand what our customers need and where we can grow article volume and market share.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across marketing to deliver on journal, subject, and society goals.

  • Take initiative to spot problems early, work through them independently, and bring solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and core marketing tools such as email marketing platforms and social media schedulers.

  • The ability to read data and campaign metrics and turn them into decisions.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when managing relationships with external partners.

  • A detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and the confidence to work through challenges on your own.

  • Comfort working collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of marketing experience, ideally gained in academic publishing

  • Experience in publishing, marketing, or another service industry, with a customer-centric approach.

  • An interest in, or basic understanding of, health sciences disciplines.

  • Understand what makes a great marketing campaign- from proposition and messaging to choice of channels, and will demonstrate this throughout their portfolio.

  • A genuine love of problem-solving and a proactive approach to finding answers.

  • Experience managing high-profile relationships, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and navigate difficult conversations

  • Critical thinking and desire to learn as you go

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, or Spain. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
