The UnitedHealthcare Out of Network team solve complex data, medical, legal and negotiation problems for our members. As an Associate Director of Actuarial Services, you will play a pivotal role in this team by applying your actuarial training to understand some of the most pressing challenges in the U.S. healthcare system. Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours of Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand and interpret key drivers of health care trends
• Conduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health care costs and manage the development of pricing methodologies and assumptions
• Mentor and develop your elite team of actuaries and help them create unique solutions to complex problems
• Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling
• Analyze forecasts and trends and translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders
• The challenges here are significant. You'll be part of an intensely driven and focused team that is accountable for constantly improving business results. You'll be a trusted subject matter expert who's called on to incorporate traditional actuarial expertise into novel, cutting edge actuarial solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation
• Proven extensive actuarial experience including supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in finance or the health care industry
• At least a basic level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or SQL (Structured Query Language)

Soft Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with a hands-on approach
• Demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence decision-making
• Leadership in collaborative, cross-functional settings, including mentoring and setting technical direction
