Assistant Management Accountant

Leeds / Hybrid – 3 days per week from our office in Thorpe Park (LS15)


As an Assistant Management Accountant, you'll be at the core of our finance team, supporting key accounting processes and helping us drive operational efficiency. You’ll be working closely with the management accounting team, supporting month-end reporting, variance analysis, and providing valuable insights to help shape decision-making and drive future strategies. Your ability to take ownership of processes, combined with your passion for financial accuracy, will play a critical role in ensuring SharkNinja’s continued growth.


Some of the things you’ll be doing


  • Month-End Support: Assist in the preparation of management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insight on any significant variances to budget or forecast.
  • Gross Margin Analysis: Monitor and report on gross margin performance, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance profitability through cost management, pricing strategies, and operational efficiency.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Assist with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Help identify areas for process improvement within accounting systems and reporting processes.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for key business projects, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional teams.

Some of the skills and experience you’ll bring


  • Education: Looking to start or recently started a financial qualification such as ACCA/CIMA.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a management accounting role, with exposure to month-end processes, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • System Savvy: Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excel Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Organised: You can juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines without compromising on quality.
