Your teamThe Group Finance department within IG is a team of global professional accountants who are independent thinkers.

This role will be part of the UK Financial Control team, reporting to the UK Financial Controller. The UK Financial Control team are key to achieving a robust financial control environment to ensure safeguarding of company and client assets, and accuracy and completeness of financial and regulatory reporting.
Your role in the Team’s SuccessThe UK Financial Control team is responsible for the financial integrity of IG Group's UK-regulated entities. The most prominent entities are IG Markets Limited, IG Index Limited, IG Trading and Investments Limited and IG Digital Assets Limited. We deliver accurate, timely financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and act as a trusted partner to the wider Finance function and the business. It's a team where technical excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities really matter.
What you'll do:Responsibility for the day-to-day review of financial records and supporting the oversight of the systems, processes, and controls over financial reporting for UK legal entities.
Identify, escalate, and support the resolution of financial control issues through the appropriate channels.
Being a key driver of the month-end close process for the UK entities and providing support for the signing off of the UK entities in HFM in line with the Group timetable, to enable efficient and effective management reporting.
Provide support on the preparation of statutory accounts, financial management packs, regulatory financial reporting and tax reporting (including provision of information for tax returns).
Coordinate the quarterly intercompany settlement process for the UK entities.
Liaise with the wider finance team and other internal stakeholders in the business to understand Group processes and take responsibility for specific processes as required.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, effectively present ideas and turn them into practical actions.
Participate in ad hoc projects, such as supporting new system implementations and evaluating the financial control implications of business initiatives including preparation of accounting technical papers.
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
Demonstrable experience in a financial control, reporting, or statutory accounting role, ideally within financial services or another regulated industry.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including practical experience with IFRS and FRS 101 financial statement preparation.
Experience working with external auditors, with the confidence to manage queries and explain technical positions clearly.
Familiarity with regulatory reporting in a financial services context (e.g. CASS, MIFIDPRU, ICARA, or similar frameworks) is desirable.
Excel skills and experience with SUN and/or HFM would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work at pace and manage competing deadlines during peak periods such as month-end and year-end.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
