Description

Toyota Financial Services are looking for an individual to join them in the position of Assistant Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a minimum of twelve months office experience, whose looking to start their career in finance.

The role in a nutshell: Providing assistance in ensuring the Financial Accounting and Tax responsibilities of the Finance Department are met.

A bit about the ‘Department’: Financial Accounting are responsible for keeping an accurate record of TFSUK’s total financial accounts, including our assets, equity, expenses and income revenue. Within the team there are a number of different functions, such as Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, preparing VAT and Corporation Tax returns, etc.

What you’ll be doing:

Financial Accounting Related:

  • Assistance in preparation of tasks attributable to Month End/Year
  • End close process.
  • Preparation and consolidation of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual reporting packages for submission to Japanese Parent Company (CONETS)
  • Assistance with preparation of annual Company reporting pack.
  • Production of Regional AR (Account Receivable) Invoices, issue to Group Companies and monitor payment.
  • Approval of daily payment files
  • Preparation of post month-end reports
  • Preparation of quarterly location trial balances
  • Completion and submission of regulatory reports, including ONS Surveys, FCA returns, Duty to Report Supplier Payments and SOX MU Report.
  • Responsible for keeping financial accounts policies and procedures up to date in accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
  • Providing evidence to external auditors.
  • Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager

Tax Related:

  • Preparation of the Capital Allowance Reconciliations and Fixed Asset Register
  • Support to tax team with VAT calculations.
Requirements
  • 12 months experience working in an office environment.
  • Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of double entry accounting is desirable.
