About the role
We are looking for a highly detail-focused Assistant Client Accountant to join our finance team within the commercial real estate sector. This role is integral to supporting the financial management of a portfolio of client-owned properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and a high standard of client service.
Working closely with senior accountants, property managers, and clients, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of financial control and delivering timely, accurate accounting information across a diverse property portfolio.
What matters most in this role
The role will require regular and direct communication with the accounts team, property managers, tenants and our clients to ensure the production of accurate and timely accounting records.
The role requires a high volume of processing of financial data as well as thorough reviews and reporting of this data to our clients.
To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills as well as good team working skills and a desire to learn and develop within your role.
Day to day you’ll
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly client reports, including VAT & IPD reporting
- Cash management of client funds ensuring money is transferred in line with client requirements
- Carry out bank reconciliations and monitor account balances
- Managements of lease information
- Respond to and resolve client, tenant and internal finance queries
- Preparing and transferring the rental income to the client
- Updating control spreadsheets
- Assist with budgeting activities when required, and look at variances if required to assist the Service Charge Accounting team
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal accounting standards
- Management of central inboxes
- Any other duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounting department
What we expect of you
- A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work is required.
- Studying ACCA, or AAT level 4 is preferred.
- Experience in a finance or client accounting role, ideally within property or real estate
- Competency in Excel and accounting systems is essential. Experience using property accounting systems such as Tramps and Yardi are beneficial but not a pre-requisite
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the role
