EUROPEAN DYNAMICS is looking to recruit for its headquarters in Athens an Assistant Accountant, to support the Accounting Department of the company, reporting to the Head of the Accounting Division.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed;
- Maintaining fixed assets register;
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded;
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases;
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations;
- Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies;
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines;
- Preparation of various returns and other reports to the public authorities, within the legal deadlines;
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, as assigned;
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed;
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports;
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings;
- Assist with other accounting projects;
- Create and update expense reports;
- Check spreadsheets for accuracy;
- Maintain digital and physical financial records;
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
Desired skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Economic studies;
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in an organised Accounting Department;
- Knowledge of the Hellenic Accounting Standards, income taxation, VAT withholding taxes and Mydata;
- Excellent command of English both written and oral;
- Good Knowledge of office automation tools and Internet use.
