The Apprentice Sales Practitioner will work collaboratively with our diverse team to sell innovative fire suppression projects. This role is designed for individuals eager to contribute to impactful solutions and learn from a dedicated group of experts.

As an apprentice, you’ll immerse yourself in a hands-on learning environment, acquiring new skills while fostering connections with our knowledgeable staff.

 
 

What You’ll Do at Work

You will build relationships with individuals and key decision makers within our customer base that have been generated and then growing that account through cross selling/upselling/white spacing.

  • Keeping up to date with industry and territory changes, trends and developments

  • Generating new business opportunities with and visiting prospects in your territory.

  • Working collaboratively and cohesively with employees as part of a wider team.

  • Achieving activity targets and overall objectives

  • Ensuring you have sufficient knowledge of products, so you can sell effectively and successfully.

  • Working alongside your sales manager to drive effective territory management to maximise sales.

Apprentices joining Johnson Controls will have a varied and multifaceted role. You will be learning about the company, it’s solutions and the sales cycle from every aspect. You will be tasked on gaining knowledge around the products and technology; working with existing clients; shadowing existing employees to meet with suppliers; designing solutions; processing quotations; project management; installations and servicing. Given the varied nature of this role, Apprentices must be adaptable, willing to learn and able to absorb information well.

The successful candidates will work and be trained so that they also have the knowledge and awareness to support customers with onsite tasks including surveying and configuring pricing, quoting as well as engaging the design centre in larger opportunity support. You will also spend time in the office working collaboratively and cohesively with employees as part of a wider team.

You will work alongside your sales manager to proactively drive a territory management activity model. This means delivering targeted activities for service growth (white spacing /cross selling / up selling) whilst continuing to grow your portfolio with new business.

Where You’ll Work
You will be expected to cover the North West, North East and Midlands predominantly. However, this is a national role so will need to travel all over the UK and be comfortable working away and staying over in hotels when required.

What We’re Offering 

Salary- £14,920 
 
Competitive basic salary with fantastic additional earning potential and a Company Pension - Enjoy 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and ongoing training.

What’s Next? 

Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview. 

Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
