Hours: 37.5  per week

Role Overview: 

As a Mentor for our AI Workflow Specialist Apprenticeship Programme, you will play a crucial role in supporting professionals to drive technological innovation and transformation across their organisation. You will help our learners identify, implement and champion AI technologies across their business to improve efficiency and productivity.

You will have a background in driving productivity improvements and leading digital or operational change and you will empower learners to become confident and capable AI Workflow Specialists.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Support learners in identifying and implementing AI-driven workflow improvements that deliver measurable business impact and ROI for their organisations.
  • Formative and summative assessments against the Knowledge, skills and behaviours of the Apprenticeship Standard
  • Support learners with developing and producing high quality portfolio of projects
  • Support learners to prepare for the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment
  • Provide Ad-hoc technical support and check-in sessions
  • Attend weekly and ad-hoc 1:1 and group mentoring sessions
  • Support with Line manager input and the final employer reference
  • Provide regular feedback and updates on learner progress to the wider Delivery Team 
  • Provide general advice, guidance to all learners 
  • Act as a main point of contact for learners with portfolio queries 
  • Safeguard children and vulnerable adults from harm and to report concerns in accordance with the Cambridge Spark process
  • Develop and maintain good relationships and encourage equality of opportunity between different groups and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  • Attend the regular team meetings and provide updates as requested on learner progress
  • Support with any ad-hoc duties, projects and requests that may be reasonably required to successfully carry out the role or to support the business
 

Candidate Specification: 

Essential

  • Knowledge of or practical experience with modern AI and data tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, Power BI, ChatGPT or related platforms.
  • Knowledge of or practical experience with low-code/no-code workflow automation and orchestration tools such as Copilot studio, Power Automate, Claude code & cowork*, Zapier, Make, N8N or related platforms. 
  • Deep understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering, and practical application of LLMs in business processes.
  • Experience in leading business change initiatives, improving productivity through AI, or embedding AI  tools into team workflows.
  • Experience mentoring, teaching, or coaching professionals in a learning or organisational development context; particularly in roles related to apprenticeships or digital skills.
  • Experience of prioritising workload, working to strict deadlines and following governing procedures and controls 
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting development of other colleagues
  • Conscientious with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Desirable

  • Background in education or an AI - related field
  • Practical knowledge of LLMOps, model evaluation, safety guardrails, AI ethics, and ROI estimation (AI economics).
  • Technical or Business and Workflow Certifications, for example: 
    • Anthropic Claude Certified Architect – Foundations (CCAR-F) or related Claude certification. 
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) or Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900). 
    • AWS Certified AI Practitioner or Cloud Practitioner. -
    • Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional (AB-730) or Microsoft 365 Copilot certifications. 
    • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-200 Power Platform Functional Consultant or Power Automate credentials).
 

Interview process: 

  1. Competency based interview + role play (brief to prepare will be shared in the interview invite) - 75 minutes
  2. Ways of Working/Meet the Team - 45 minutes
