Job Description:

What you’ll do

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining and driving sales at accounts to achieve efficient and profitable sales of the company’s products to targeted levels.  Assist the team to optimize existing accounts and prospects.  Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new accounts.  Interface with other departments as needed to drive business within accounts and resolve any issues that may arise.  Provide direction / assignments to Account Executive team to help develop sales business.

How you’ll do it

  • Demonstrate an ability to build and/or establish strong relationships with new B2B accounts and within major existing accounts including product managers, buyers, planners, etc.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profit goals established by upper management
  • Develop and execute upon business plans with line manager / regional sales director to meet those goals
  • Strive to increase net sales by actively reducing Returns and Allowances
  • Plan and conduct independently your outside sales calls.
  • Collaborate with entire sales team including channel support and other Account Managers to ensure best practices and information are shared to maximize results and achieve goals
  • Assist customers with all account related questions, issues, or concerns. Provide accurate, timely information to the customers regarding inquiries such as products, pricing, and quotes

Conduct weekly reviews of sales, returns (RMA’s) and program allowances (P&A), quotes, promotions, sell through, inventory management, forecasts, and any other account activities that will impact financial results for the account(s), and report findings to your line Manager

  • Provide customer recaps for all meetings and take a leadership role to ensure all action items are executed upon
  • Assist your fellow sales team with all account related questions, issues, and concerns
  • Follow the sales team’s procedures for managing and maintaining opportunity pipeline, quotes, bids, etc. and be prepared to present that information when requested
  • Analyze and understand industry market trends, competition, products, and pricing that may impact sales efforts and communicate this information to all sales management and other departments as necessary
  • Assist in optimizing profitability at each assigned account
  • Conduct and/or coordinate sales and training meetings as required.  Attend all required meetings
  • Provide accurate and well-structured forecasting input on a regular basis
  • Provide positive reinforcement and constructive criticism to team members and escalate any issues as they arise
  • Travel to tradeshows and customer sites required.  Depending on assignment, international travel may be required

What you’ll need

  • Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Italian / English
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Excellent phone skills and etiquette required
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestic and occasionally international
  • Bring an open mind with a healthy dose of productive creativity

What you’ve done

Experience should include:

  • One to three years’ experience in a sales capacity or equivalent position would be required. Previously IT industry experience would be welcomed.
  • Proven track record of sales growth and/or prospecting
  • Experience in a self-reliant and self-disciplined work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy is required
